What is Pentaculum: Jason Bige Burnett Explains.
In the tenth episode of Perceived Value host Sarah Rachel Brown sits down with ceramic artist Jason Bige Burnett. Jason and Sarah are in Gatlinburg, TN at the Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts taking part in Arrowmont's annual Pentaculum. The two artists sip some bourbon and discuss what exactly a Pentaculum is, how they came to be involved, and the value of this experience.
Jason Bige Burnett graduated from Western Kentucky University with a BFA in ceramics and BA’s in both printmaking and graphic design. Burnett continued his education and studies as a core fellowship student at Penland School of Crafts (NC), and as an Artist-In-Residence at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts (TN). Since then he has exhibited nationally, been featured in Ceramics Monthly, American Craft Magazine, and he's the author of Graphic Clay: Ceramic Surfaces and Printed Image Transfer Techniques (Lark Books, 2015). Burnett currently lives and works from his home studio in Louisville, Kentucky.
